The Institute of Bast Fiber Crops, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(IBFC, CAAS) and the International Natural Fiber Organization(INFO) signed the " Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Scientific and Technological Cooperation between IBFC,CAAS and INFO " in Changsha, and held the opening ceremony of the " International Natural Fiber Organization China Office. " The Secretary-General of the INFO, Tambyrajah Randolph Dilipkumar, and the Director General of the IBFC, Chen Wanquan, jointly unveiled the office. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Li Defang, Deputy Director General of IBFC.

Mr. Chen Wanquan emphasized that IBFC had a long-term cooperation with INFO and had achieved remarkable results. The establishment of China office of INFO marks the further improvement of thecooperation between the two sides. He pointed out that the two sides should strengthen joint research and international talent training in the field of natural fiber on the basis of previous cooperation and take the China office as a platform to guide the healthy and sustainable development of the international natural fiber crop industry.

Mr. Tambyrajah Randolph Dilipkumar expressed his hope that through the establishment of the China office of INFO, theinternational influence of the organization will be fully strengthened and exerted, and a platform for scientific and technological cooperation between the two sides in the field of natural fiber will be built, which willeffectively promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of natural fiber crops and personnel training, and promote the healthy and vigorous development of the international natural fiber industry.
