Research objective:

 In order to meet the national major demand for environmental friendly agricultural biodegradable materials, the team focused on developing agricultural biodegradable materials to provide material support for national food security.

Research Topic: 

The team focused on designing and preparing low-cost, environmental-friendly bio-based raw materials for the development of environmental-friendly mulching film, seedling film, packaging bags, food preservation and packaging materials, compost bags and other new products. The team was committed to promoting the replacement of non-degradable agricultural plastic products with these products. In addition, through innovative extraction, purification and polymerization technologies of biodegradable polymer, the team developed biodegradable materials based on starch, PBAT, PLA and other biodegradable polymers to obtain biodegradable mulch film, packaging film and other products.

Research achievement: 

The team received 12 provincial and ministerial awards as well as awards from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, including the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Innovation Award of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the second prize of the National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Harvest Award and many other awards.
